Ozonosan PM 58, the first medical ozone generator, celebrates its
50th birthday in 2008

Ozone-Project: History · Art · Therapy

With their various pictures and art objects on the subject of ozone in the environment, water, atmosphere and in therapy, 12 young artists from the Nürtingen University for Art Therapy (Hochschule for Kunsttherapie Nürtingen) participated in the exhibition to compete for the 2008 Ozonosan Prize before a jury of experts consisting of recognized artists.
Perhaps the beginning of a triennial event? As we know, the number three plays an important part: ozone is the triatomic form of oxygen - and the colours blue and red play a part: liquid ozone is blue, but it has an absorption range in the red band of the light spectrum. Hence, there is a wide field for art and design.

The history of ozone begins with the German chemist Christian Friedrich Schönbein, the discoverer of ozone and the man who paved the way for the fuel cell; he was a son of the Swabian town of Metzingen, where he was born in 1799; he died in Baden-Baden in 1868.
